Idahos White Water Capital

Come and see for yourself!

Come and see for yourself why Riggins, Idaho is “THE” Whitewater Capital of the well known “Whitewater State” of Idaho! Home of the “River of No Return!”

Our river town boasts the presence of the Little Salmon River, Rapid River and the Salmon River – which is the longest free-fl owing river in the contiguous United States, contained in a single state. The Salmon River flows unimpeded through 425 miles of Central Idaho before its waters join the Snake River at the lower end of Hells Canyon.

Riggins is nestled in between the Seven Devil Mountains, Gospel Hump and Frank Church Wilderness areas – making it the second deepest canyon in North America and the perfect setting for river adventures! Enjoy the rugged area with its dynamic history of Native Americans, Settlers and Chinese Miners. There are some of the best preserved examples of Chinese rock dwellings along the Salmon River, outside of China, dating 1850 to 1890.
